Breakthrough – 36”x48” mixed media          

 After the intensity of this last one – I had to make a jump to something more hopeful.    There was a song back in the 80’s called Total Eclipse of the Heart.  Here I saw a hardened dark heart which obscured all but the edges of the glowing light behind it, like in a solar eclipse. Then I pictured a cracking and rupturing of the hard shell so that the light (insight) could break through.
