Invite For My Musically Gifted Friends

I am in the midst of an artistic project that will be comprised of a number of visual images that I am creating in a variety of media (My degree years ago was in fine arts, but I’ve been creatively dormant for a long time). The death of my husband, however, triggered an outpouring of work which started as a kind of therapy for me. But with the encouragement of my counselor Margaret Phillips, and others, it seems to be evolving into much more.

The theme is the story of our HEARTS, and how life impacts us. The arc of the story is INNOCENCE, then DAMAGE which is visualized in a number of ways, then imagery which explores the manner in which we PROTECT our hearts, then the HEALING PROCESS, and finally RESTORATION.

We anticipate that this project will be utilized by “the least of these” – those broken and in recovery, grief therapy, or anyone working their way back from a loss, disappointment, trauma, setback or failure.

This will ultimately be a professional quality film/video housed in a website, and an important component of this has to be music. The story needs a soundtrack and so I need your help.

Some of the music could be brand new, composed specifically for this project. Some may be songs you already have written and/or recorded and have lying around wondering where they were meant to be showcased. Some of you can help produce the new works or point me to songs you know of. We anticipate a place on the website where a viewer could download a song perhaps from I-Tunes and thereby there could be some monetary component for you. We may also produce CD’s of the original tunes for purchase as well. Plus, while I don’t have a huge personal budget, I may be able to provide some compensation for expenses.

I am going to host a gathering at my home on Sunday, August 18th,from 1:00 till whenever… to launch this musical component of HEARTS. There will be FOOD and beverages. Bring your instruments (I do have a keyboard) and any friends/guests who are musical & might “get it.” No pressure! If you view the HEARTS and this doesn’t resonate with you, no worries. Perhaps you can just provide input or suggestions. Or just eat the food and drink the wine -whatever! Many Thanks and Blessings!
